Asia Instagram: A seamless flow of memories and places

By andofotherthings · On 2 Jul, 2015

This month’s #ff moves both outside of Vietnam and the conventional use of Instagram’s single-frame medium.

Professional German photographer @uebersee21, based out of Singapore and Malaysia for the past 10 years, uses his feed to display a constant flow of images blending into each other.

In his own words: “I’m not exactly sure why I started to use Instagram in the first place, since I always had my doubts about it and still have. In order to make it fun for me, I started to blend everything into one infinite stream of memories, experiences, dreams, statements…

I’m not planning it much in advance, but every day I see where it leads me to this time. What started as a half-hearted glimpse into a new phone gimmick has now also has an effect on my photography, when I explore ways of how to express our heads’ stream of thoughts, visuals and feelings in a single-frame medium.”

Every other week Kaela Greenstien picks a local or Southeast and East Asia based Instagramer for us to feature and follow, as well as the occasional one just passing through, capturing first impressions and perhaps noticing things we no longer do.
