Curated: The Sound of Sound Stuff

Tri Minh and the Sound Stuff team have selected seven tracks which sum up the spirit and energy of this year’s Hanoi Sound Stuff Festival.

Artist: Mijk Van Dijk
Track: Motherwomb

As one of the fathers of trance music, we expect Mijk Van Dijke’s performance at the Hanoi Sound Stuff Festival 2014 to be explosive.

Artist: Good Guy Mikesh
Track: Place of Love feat. Filburt

Good Guy Mikesh, who has a fresh pop sound all of his own, brings excitement to Sound Stuff with a masterful mix of different genres including R’n’B, Disco and New Wave.

Artist: Joakim
Track: On the Beach

Joakim, with his album and record label Tiger Sushi, has become the darling of the electronic music scene in recent years. His appearance at this year’s festival is a great chance for the audience to hear the freshest sounds and music trends.

Artist: Benjamin Schoos
Track: Je ne vois que vous (feat. Laetitia Sadier)

With his ability of combining lush melodic pop with experimental music to create a whole new sound, Benjamin Schoos’s set is bound to be surprising and different.

Artist: Micachu 
Track: Golden Phone

The UK’s Micachu will give a special performance with a message of support for the LGBT community, support which is backed by Hanoi Sound Stuff Festival 2014.

Artist: Tri Minh & New Ca Tru 
Track: Xuan

New Ca Tru is Tri Minh’s new project, melding traditional Vietnamese chamber music with electronic music in an ambient style, creating a new and wholly original musical space.

Artist: Dom Dom – The Hub for Experimental Music & Art
Track: The Secret Language of my Dreams

DOMDOM, the first experimental music and art centre in Vietnam, aims to train and support contemporary and experimental music performers. The young DOMDOM artists will open the festival on the 11th of April with a 30-minute performance showcasing the emergence of a new generation of Vietnamese experimental music artists.
