Handmade pins to wear your art in accents
Words by Sadie Christie ● Images by Huong
These remind us of the early 90’s, when displaying pins on bags and shirts were accessories of personal expression as much as the jewelry or clothes we wore. The pins were handmade by artist Trần Thu Hằng, the same artist who gained her name by creating intricate little wooden dolls. Switching up the medium, the pins are a small token of her continuing pursuit to play with art. “Maybe it’s just me; I don’t like doing anything burdensome, that’s why all the artwork I do are light and small.” A bare nipple, a third eye or a reminiscent doodle, Hang believes in the beauty of the simple things that take us back to a sense of innocent delight.
