Curated: Pinocchio’s Moment of Clarity

This month’s curated music series comes out of Mumbai, India, from Pinnochio’s Moment of Clarity. A man of few words for his musical selections, Aditya Virmani lets the tracks speak for themselves as he guides us through his favourite indie bands from India.

Track: Everytime You’re Around
Place: Mumbai

The Amazing Shaair meets Func have produced some killer electronica music – they are considered pioneers for this kind of music in India. NH7 Indiecision considers them to be “the most important musical duo in Indian independent music today.”

Artist: Dualist Inquiry
Track: Lumina
Place: Mumbai

Brainchild of Sahej Bakshi, solo outfit Dualist Inquiry has been doing the rounds producing some trippy, fun electronica and guitar-based vibes from our capital, Mumbai.

Artist: Pangea
Track: The life of Epson Printer
Place: Mumbai

Pangea brings the heaviest progressive music from the country. They consider themselves to be a progressive drone/soundtrack/metal band.This is a live performance from their Bluefrog Show.

Artist: Skyharbor
Track: This is Evolution
Place: Mumbai

Single from the newest Skyharbor Album, ‘Guiding Lights’, released last month. It is one of the most successful bands in the country after their debut album was released in 2012.

Artist: Ganesh Talkies
Track: Dancing Dancing
Place: Kolkata

The new pop project from India with the amazing Suyahsha, playing major festivals around the country.

CAMA’s Eliza Lomas is on a mission to find a huge array of great Asian music, digging through different times, countries and genres, with a regular monthly selection.

PMoC’s experimental electronic, progressive rock outfit, is Aditya Virmani on guitar and samples, and he’ll be stopping by Hanoi on 11 December to share his talents at CAMA ATK.
