For centuries and centuries people have had stone dog statues guard their houses, both to keep evil spirits at bay and have luck enter through the front door. To this day dogs are considered both loyal and lucky animals.

Artist Thành Phong has designed miniature dog statues made out of 12 different materials all used by Hanoians to build their houses. They include stone, clay, something that glows in the dark and three undisclosed ones. There is a mystery that is the whole intrigue of purchasing one of these delightful talismans – you won’t know what you got until you peek inside your box after the purchase.

The dogs will be available for purchase from 1 December at Rabbit Hole on 102 Hàng Gai, 2nd Floor. They will also be sold at the Affordable Art Fair at Manzi on 5 December and you can buy them online at longthantuong.com. They cost VND 120.000 per statue.
